Our Men’s Forum is a group that was formed two years ago to serve the church in all its endeavor. Our main purpose is to provide a brotherly support to one another both in times of sickness and in death. They also serve in cleaning the church and taking responsibility for the liturgy on the first Sunday of every month. For the year ahead 2024; our Men’s Forum hope to support our schools and youth in the area and become a mentorship for our youth both within the parish and beyond. They also plan to have a retreat later on in the year. They will also go to Magliesburg for a day of reflection during the Lenten period. We are delighted to have almost thirty active men in this group who meet weekly and testify to God as their creator and unite them with a spirit of hope and respect. God bless their spirit to continue.James is their co-ordinator and who helps with their activities and is very welcoming towards new members.

RCIA represents our catechism journey for adults. Diane and Candice are our Catechists for the RCIA program, who dedicate themselves to the service of the parish community. Our RCIA class normally takes place on a Saturday afternoon. It is a two year program and baptism normally takes place at the Easter Vigil when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. The classes are not exclusively for the RCIA candidates. Even those who have been baptized long ago partake in the program in order to update their faith and share the word of God and encourage those in the program.

The Golden Oldies are our sasa ladies and gents who give of themselves to serve the church namely with the liturgy. They have been involved in liturgy for many years and when we introduced our new program they were annoyed when they weren’t included. After a gentle discussion they were ready to serve and serve our church community well. Again we are grateful to them for their generous spirit and dedication to God’s family. Aunty Sara co-ordinator’s the Golden Oldies and they welcome new members.

We have a great group of young Catechists who encourage our children to discover God and the church in their lives. Leighann is our co-ordinator who helps our program to spread its wings. Our parents of our kids are very supportive and with registration this past Sunday we envisage a busy year. Our faith comes alive when our children share their experience of God. That’s why our catechist are so important to our church as it brings our church alive. At the beginning of mass we invite our children to share on their classes and on then third Sunday of each month they will take the liturgy and live God through God’s word.

The Alter Servers as the name suggests are a group of young of young people who choose to serve God on the alter. Serving God in any capacity is an honor but serving God on the alter enables one to realize the beauty and closeness of God. Many priests and religious have discovered their vocation while serving on the alter and we wish the same for our young people. James and Andrew are their adult support who guide them both on the alter as well as in their training days. We hope to have an outing along with a retreat for our Alter Servers to encourage them to pray together and we all know when we pray together we remain together.

Our Eucharistic Ministry is a vital organ which enables our parish community to be connect with God through the spirit of the Eucharist. Their role of visiting the sick be it in their homes or at hospitals is a beautiful ministry which carries our blessed eucharist in our hearts. I have experienced the joy which comes with receiving the eucharist when visiting the elderly and sick in their home. Our Ministers have two retreats a year along with formation days to help them to perform their duties well. If ever you would like to become a minister please contact Wayne our Eucharistic Minister Co-ordinator.

Our Choir are dedicated group of people from all walks of life along with all nations. It is truly beautiful to hear how they encourage our church to pray. As St Augustine said many years ago, the person who sings prays twice. That is the value that St Augustine placed upon singing God’s glory. At times we take their dedication for granted but when you see them coming to practice we admire their love of celebration for our people who express their love of God with their voices. Josh is the co-ordinator if you want to join the choir, they would most grateful.

Is a dedicated team who decorate the church on a weekly basis. They appeal for flowers and there is a donation box dedicated for the flowers. They have a wealth of material but we also bought new material as we believe that when we decorated the church it represents our catechism class as it focus our mind on the theme of the mass. It is beautiful to experience the beauty of our team from Aunty Cathy to Tony who express their joy for God which enables us to celebrate with our hearts when we come to church.
